March 4, or Annihilation Tuesday, is just a week away. On this day Rhode Island, Vermont, Texas, and Ohio will have their primaries. If Hilary cannot win Texas and Ohio she will most likely have to end her campaign, unless she tries to pull some sneaky shit with the super delegates. Hilary needs to stop Obama’s momentum now, she has had the chance in the debates. The Polls are too close to call, but right now realclearpolitics has Obama winning Texas and Hilary winning in Ohio. These polls have been wrong this year already, so who knows what will happen next week.

For the Republicans this might be it for Mike Huckabee. I give him respect, he has certainly gotten PR for a possible future run as the president or VP. John McCain has the nomination now , it’s just not official until Big Mike withdraws.

How did Barack Obama become so famous? Well the reason was the Obama girl. Science can prove this, and I have yet to do the math but this woman is the reason he came a storm’n to the national stage. If you have not seen the Obama girl shame on you. Here is the video, I found out she really didn’t sing this catchy tune, but damn she looks fine.

Paul Brant of Frankfurt, Indiana bought a brand new Dodge Ram for $26,670 in December. The catch is that he paid for it all in change. He collected change for 13 years and then decided that he needed a truck. The man who lives a short distance from Lafayette is quoted as saying:
“I reckon I was just brought up that way,”

He empties his pockets out daily and goes out of the way to pick up change on the ground. He saved the cash in coffee cans, piggy banks, and used jugs of muscle milk. I give the man credit change does add up, but I have to say this guy

IS A DUMBASS.

He had the right idea in saving the money but keeping the money in coffee cans is slightly stoopid. Assuming he collected $2051.53 a year ($26,670/13). He could have put this money in a the safest possible investment a savings account. The ING Orange Saving rate is now at 3.4% after the Fed has cut the rates so this rate was higher before. He would have had $33,967 after 13 years which is $7297 more or it would have only took him 11 years to get the truck. If he had invested in say the S&P 500 which averages a 10% return he would have had $55,340 which by my calculations is more than double.

What to take away.

Don’t keep your change in a piggy bank, get it into some kind of investment. For college students, don’t keep more than one or two thousand in your checking account. You are losing money if you keep it this account longer than a year since the rate is below the inflation rate. Also, keep an eye on your savings account rates. Some are also really low.

Kelvin Sampson has reached a $750,000 settlement with IU. In this settlement he agrees not to sue. Only 4 scholarship players were at practice today. Luckily, Northwestern is up next. More updates to come.

Well the only good news I can tell you is that Little 5 is around the corner. The only good picture i could find of this event was at college humor. Just to highlight the photo. Wet girl in a bikini. I don’t know what apartment complex this is or if anyone can spot anyone they know but it is a great photo.

These men may look like brothers, but they are not. Some may say they are heroes, while others say they are not. I really don’t care what happened in the past and I care to look toward the future of Indiana Basketball. There has been a media leak that Sampson will get canned tomorrow. I talked to someone in the development office today and he said if the University doesn’t address the problem they will lose gifts from the alumnus. To remind you Sampson has a base salary of $500,000. I think the size of gifts they get can be quite a bit larger than that. The University is denying any actions in the Indiana Daily Student.
