These men may look like brothers, but they are not. Some may say they are heroes, while others say they are not. I really don’t care what happened in the past and I care to look toward the future of Indiana Basketball. There has been a media leak that Sampson will get canned tomorrow. I talked to someone in the development office today and he said if the University doesn’t address the problem they will lose gifts from the alumnus. To remind you Sampson has a base salary of $500,000. I think the size of gifts they get can be quite a bit larger than that. The University is denying any actions in the Indiana Daily Student. I just drove by Assembly Hall though and there was four TV trucks parked there. Something will be announced tomorrow.

Looking to the future. If Sampson is fired or is suspended, Dan Dakich will take over. Who is Dan Dakich? Well he is a Hoosier from Merrillville. He attended the Andrean Catholic High School. Came to Indiana, and played for Coach Knight. First year after graduating he became a coach for IU. He is remembered for holding Michael Jordan to 14 points in the tournament back in the days. He was also captain of the team as a junior and senior. The guy looks real classy to me, hell maybe the school will get more donations if this Indiana native brings back the style and mentality of Bob Knight. A student was asked to take off his shirt at the game that said “bring back Bobby.” I don’t think Bob Knight would be the answer. You know who else is available?
